Fishing offshore continues to be great as the 2009 red snapper season winds down. Bay fishing also seems to be better than we have seen in recent years.

Deep sea 12 hour New Buccaneer trip:

186 red snapper
68 vermillion snapper
16 lane snapper
14 sharpnose sharks
6 rockhind grouper

The countdown to the end of the 2009 red snapper season is in full swing: today was the fourth to the last day and fishing in the New Buccnaneer 12 hour trip was great. Capt Garrett King put the boat on the fish and came in with:

156 red snapper
14 vermillion snapper
2 mangrove snapper
10 king mackerel
1 ling
14 sharpnose sharks
2 rock hind grouper




Monday, August 10, 2009
Capt Garrett King put the New Buccaneer on a huge catch of fish for the 12 hour trip today:

200 red snapper
450 vermillion snapper
4 lane snapper
2 king mackerel
1 amberjack
2 cobia
1 scamp grouper
1 barracuda
3 triggerfish

Today was the 8-hour trip and fishing was decent. Red snapper are still tough to catch on the 8hour trip.

138 angelfish
32 bonnethead sharks
3 stingray

Deep sea 12-hour fishing aboard the New Buccaneer continues to do well with a catch today with:

166 red snapper
20 lane snapper
4 mangrove snapper
2 rock hind
