The New Buccaneer returned today from the 30 hour safari trip that departed at 7AM on Saturday. Captain Matt Smith and second Captain Victor Clark did a fantastic job along with crewmembers Mike, Bradley, Josh and Kevin. The 48 fishermen came in with an incredible catch of:
300 blackfin tuna 30 yellowfin tuna (avg of 60 lbs each) 217 vermillion snapper 1 lane snapper 3 mangrove snapper 2 barracuda 1 sharpnose shark 4 scamp grouper 8 rock hind
Several large amberjack were also caught but had to be released as the NMFS, on only three days notice, closed the recreational amberjack fishery beginning at 12:01 Saturday morning. |

| The NMFS announced that the recreational fishery for amberjack will close at 12:01 AM on Oct 24, 2009 and will not re-open until Jan 1, 2010. Thanks for the three day advance notice. |

| Only the AM bay trip went today and came in at noon with 4 red drum and 15 gafftop. |

| More poor weather offshore prevented the 12 hour trip from going. Bay fishing continues to be good with the AM trip bringing in 20 red drum, 5 gafftop, 1 shark and 1 whiting and the PM trip bringing back 6 red drum and 22 gafftop. |

| The New Buccaneer and Capt King took a small group of only 21 fishermen on the AM bay trip and came back with a great catch of red drum and sharks |
