Both of today's bay and jetty fishing trips aboard the Texsun II were again run with Capt. Johnny Williams in the driver's seat. He had 55 fishermen on both the morning and afternoon trips, working their cut squid baits in the area of the Galveston Jetties. Their efforts brought in catches of stingray, whiting, black drum, sand trout and Atlantic sharpnose shark. These trips also had numerous hardhead catfish and some undersized Atlantic sharpnose sharks, all of which were released.

Our reservations phone numbers are 409-762-8808 or, in the Houston area, 713-223-4853. Use your Visa, Mastercard or Discover Card and make your reservations on one of these relaxed atmosphere, family oriented four hour bay/jetty fishing trips.

Today's morning and afternoon 4 hour trips to the area of Galveston's jetties were both headed up by Capt. Johnny Williams. The 61 fishermenon this morning's trip and the 27 in the afternoon had hits on their cut squid baits that brought catches over the rail which included sand trout, whiting, Atlantic sharpnose sharks (keepers plus numerous undersized ones that were released) and numerous hardhead catfish, also released. The attention getters were the day's two ling, one was a keeper and the other was a bit undersized and was released.

With the Capt. John undergoing some maintenance work, Capt. Tony Langston had the partyboat Texsun II doing a 10 hour offshore fishing trip. Not a newcomer to the open Gulf, which was its home for about three decades, the 42 anglers were in for a smooth ride through the 1-2 ft. seas.

Using Baits of cut squid or whole Spanish Sardines, about 30 miles offshore in the area's 70 deep waters, wrecks and a rig provided this catch:

10 red snapper to 8#
57 Atlantic spadefish
2 gray triggerfish
12 lane snapper

David Rodriguez had an 8# red snapper.
Robert Fritz with a 5# red snapper and 3 Atlantic spadefish.

Maintenance on the Capt. John should be completed and it back in service starting with the Friday 12 hour offshore trip.

To make your reservations on the partyboat Capt. John for one of its offshore trips, make the call to the office at Galveston's Pier 19. The numbers are: 409-762-8808 or 713-223-4853. Credit cards Visa, Mastercard and Discover are now being accepted.

This Sunday morning trip had 48 fishermen at the Texsun II's rail. They wound in a catch which included numerous undersize Atlantic sharpnose sharks, hardhead catfish, whiting and sand trout. Baits were the standard-pieces of cut squid, fished at or near the bottom.

This morning's bay fishing trip again had Capt. Johnny Williams in the captain's chair. The results were similar to several previous trips. Catches for the 61 fishermen were whiting, sand trout, Atlantic sharpnose sharks and many hardhead catfish.

This afternoon's trip had 57 fishermen and their catch consisted once again of sand trout, Atlantic sharpnose sharks and whiting.
