This morning's four hour bay and jetty fishing trip aboard the Texsun II was run with Capt. Dan Bunday at the wheel. He had the 38 fishermen aboard fishing their baits at or near the bottom at Galveston's South Jetty.
Their catch was made up of several shark species that included Atlantic sharpnose, blacktip and bonnethead, plus gafftop catfish, whiting, sandtrout and bull redfish. To make your reservations at the rail on one of these four hour bay/jetty fishing trips, call the Pier 19 office at 409-762-8808 or 713-223-4853. The sights, sounds and aromas of beautiful Galveston Bay are included at no extra charge. Don't forget that you'll also need a Texas saltwater fishing license. Get one at Academn or simply call 1-800-TXLIC4U. The phone call gets you verification numbers; the hard copy with its redfish tag will be sent to you by mail by Texas Parks and Wildlife. The Academy, other sporting goods or tackle shops sources or the Texsun II office gets you an immediate hard copy with the tag. Come a bit early when getting yours in the office. Come out, fish and see some of the bay, it's all good.

This morning's four hour bay and jetty fishing trip was headed up by Capt. Johnny Williams>/b>. Using pieces of cut squid, fished at or near the bottom, near the concrete ship Selma, the area just off the end of the seawall and big reef enticed a variety of species into biting. The 45 fishermen brought a catch over the rails which included bonnethead sharks, hardhead catfish and a sandbar shark of about 20 pounds. These 4 hour bay and jetty fishing trips are perfect for families with small children, in fact, they are a great opportunity for just about anyone to fish the various areas available on the morning and afternoon trips...besides the fishing opportunities, you have the sights, sounds and saltwater aromas of beautiful Galveston Bay to enjoy.
For reservations, call the office at 409-762-8808 or 713-223-4853.
